Digitalization and automation in
industrial biotechnology processes
The use of big data, bioprocess automation and machine learning methodologies hold much promise in advancing bioprocess development, optimization, and execution.
In this sub project we aim to achieve this by 1) increasing the availability of online information of the bioprocess, 2) developing a digital framework to combine online information with biological and process models, and 3) using this to make predictive decisions to improve the development and execution of a model scale-up/down bioprocess.
Digitalization of bioprocesses are cross disciplinary activities and can be applied to any bioprocess and thus this project will have close interactions with Project 1-5 in SFI-IB.
